Q: Where can I find
CBB products?
A: CBB exhibits its products at the Monte Carlo World Championships in July.
Our products can often be seen in action at other grand prix tournaments around
the world.
Q: What types of materials
does CBB use for making backgammon boards?
A: CBB board frames are crafted from solid wood, and upholstered with a range
of fabrics, tapestries or leathers on the outside. The playing surface is a
soft durable synthetic nap, laid over high-grade cork.
Q: How much does a
CBB board weigh?
A: The exact weight of a CBB board depends upon the density of wood used in
the frame and the exact size of board which depends upon the checkers used.
A CBB tournament-sized board will typically weigh 5 to 6 kilos, or 11 to 13
lbs.
Q: What are the approximate
dimensions of a CBB board?
A: An open CBB tournament board typically measures 80 cm x 57 cm, or 31½" x
22½". When closed an average set might be 40 cm x 57 cm x 10 cm,
or 15¾" x 22½" x 4".
Q: How do I clean
my CBB board?
A: Leathers can be wiped with a clean damp cloth. Leather creams can also be
used as cleaners and conditioners but should not be applied directly to the
leather but in small amounts to a clean dry cloth and rubbed gently into the
leather in a uniform way. Once dry, the leather can be buffed with a clean
dry cloth. All fabrics used by CBB are washable and dirt may be lifted out
with warm water and a mild detergent using a clean cloth. Excessive rubbing
or scrubbing to one particular spot should be avoided, especially on the nap
of the playing surface.
Q: Can I specify a
unique piece of art design for my board or checkers, like a logo?
A: Yes. CBB can manufacture absolutely anything for you into a logo, nameplate, or playing checkers
for your board.
